Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping copies the exact pixel region you selected; it does not rescale or recompress beyond the normal encoding of your chosen output format.
Why does my crop look pixelated when zoomed in?
If you zoom deep into a small source image, you are seeing the limits of its resolution. The export always uses full source pixels, so the crop is exactly as sharp as the original was in that region.
Should I export PNG or JPG?
Pick PNG for lossless output and to preserve transparency; pick JPG for noticeably smaller files on photos, with transparent areas filled white.
Does the cropper upload my image?
No. The editor and the crop engine both run in your browser. Your image stays on your device and is discarded when you close the tab.
